2020 Web Hosting Awards

NCM Online purchases, tests, reviews, and rates shared hosting services. The cheapest available WordPress-capable shared plan is purchased from each of 50 popular web hosts. A standardized test site is uploaded to each host’s server and independent third-party page-load speed and uptime tested every 15 minutes for ten consecutive days from 13 locations worldwide. The results are then compiled and rated on a scale of one-half to five stars.

In addition to speed and uptime, hosts are rated for price, ease of use, disk space, bandwidth, support, BBB rating, and overall satisfaction. Using these ten parameters, the ratings are averaged, producing a cumulative star rating for each host. The cumulative rating for each host is then used to produce NCM Online’s rankings.

We know of no other web hosting review site that goes to such lengths to produce data-driven reviews that are as largely free of reviewer opinion and any possible bias.
